Scott: As promised, here is the first of our packing lists. This is the tool and repair list. Seems kinda long, huh? I certainly can’t fix every issue that could arise but with these items I can respond to many on the road emergencies. The list is by no means final. I expect it to evolve a bit before we leave. For example, do I really need 2 pairs of pliers? or are the brake pads really necessary? What’s missing?

• 8 in crescent wrench (fits cassette tool)
• Pin spanner (for tandem eccentric bottom bracket)
• 5 mm hex wrench w/ shortened end (for disk brake mounting bolts)
• 8, 9, 10 mm Y wrench
• 5 inch ignition pliers
• Small needle nose pliers
• Chain tool
• Spoke tool
• Stein mini cassette lock (to remove cassette)
• Cassette lock ring tool (to put cassette back on)
• Gimp emergency derailleur hanger
• Missing link connectors (emergency chain repair)
• Fiber fix spokes – 2 (emergency spoke repair)
